Consistent with my belief in lifelong learning, I recently completed my Bachelor of Education degree at the University of Alberta. I have since worked as a K-12 teacher in both Canada and the United Kingdom. Although this put my foray into full-time journalism on hold, it also allowed me to work through one of the greatest and most complex stories I have ever had the pleasure of telling. In the hands of the right educator, the curriculum itself becomes a story—a story told to our most important audience.
I believe that the stories we tell shape how we see the world—and how the world sees us.
It was my love of literature, together with my love of language and learning, that inspired my dynamic degree and career choices. In an increasingly wired world, communicators are innovators who explore and share diverse stories across increasingly diverse platforms. I see the world through a narrative lens; as such, I am constantly looking for creative opportunities to hone my skills as a writer/editor, a reporter, and as a broadcast producer and technician.
